I know you’ve been through it.
You’ve seen hard times.
People don’t treat you like they used to.
And money always feels like an issue.
You’ve seen people come and go.
And you’re tired. I get it.
Sometimes it feels like you’re running in place. Like all the hard work you do is just enough to keep standing still.
But this is what you have to understand:
This chapter of your life is not permanent.
And whether you can see it or not, if you’ll allow it to, this chapter can build you up and make you better.
What feels like a loss is actually a necessary step that you have to take on the way to your greatest accomplishments.
Change is constant.
What you’re looking at today will be completely different a year from now.
Your highs and lows are what make you unique.
Your wins and losses.
Your perceived defects.
Your strengths and weaknesses.
They come together to create your story.
For such a time as this.
Your past and your present led you right here.
In your own unique way, you’ve found a way to keep pushing.
And now you’re here with the capability to keep growing, evolving, and shaping your outcomes. You have the capacity to choose and create your future. No matter your past.
But it all depends on how you decide you’re gonna look at your life.
There are people from all different backgrounds, cultures, circumstances, and environments that have allowed their story to become something great by being intentional about it.
Own your story.
It can be your superpower.
Maybe you’ll share it one day.
You never know who you will be able to help.
Scientists say that the chances of you being born are 1 in 400 trillion.
That’s a crazy statistic.
Then, on top of existing, you have all your unique characteristics that set you apart from everybody else.
There’s only one you, and for the remainder of existence, ever, there will always only be one you.
You are literally a miracle.
Each of our differences are necessary.
-You’ll be able to impact others in a way that I’ll never be able to.
-You’ll be able to reach people that nobody else could.
-You’ll be able to do things that nobody else can do. Not like you.
I want to empower and encourage you.
Your work is not done in vain.
You have to trust your process.
It’s not all about the immediate outcomes. It’s about what and who you’re becoming.
The things you do today will pave the way for your future.
You must be intentional about the present.
You’re being chiseled. You’re developing wisdom and character. You’re learning.
And if you will look at your life with a growth mindset, you’ll be able to use all of your unique abilities and lessons learned to put together a life of greatness.
There are 2 ways that you can move through this life.
You can operate with 1 of 2 mindsets.
So let’s talk about them.
The Growth Mindset vs. The Fixed Mindset
Let’s start with the one that has a less fulfilling process and outcome.
The Fixed Mindset
Just to keep it simple, The Fixed Mindset has the belief that everything now is how it will always be and there’s nothing that can be done about it.
People with The Fixed Mindset believe that their intelligence, abilities, talents, and personalities are fixed traits that cannot be changed or grown.
People with The Fixed Mindset live aimless lives and play the role that society assigns them.
The Fixed Mindset is not correct. Otherwise, the poor would always stay poor. Obese would always stay obese. Broken people would stay broken. And that’s not the case.
Otherwise, there wouldn’t be such a thing as rags to riches stories.
Now, let’s talk about the opposite.
The Growth Mindset
To keep it simple, The Growth Mindset has the belief that everything now is the starting point to build the future on.
People with The Growth Mindset believe that their intelligence, abilities, talents, and personalities can be cultivated and grown into something desirable.
People with The Growth Mindset have an understanding that where they are today will only lead them to greater things when all the lessons are applied correctly to their lives.
The Growth Mindset is correct.
This is why people from all walks of life, from all kinds of hardships are able to turn their situations around to create something great in their lives.
The Fixed Mindset is limiting.
The Growth Mindset is limitless.
The difference is perspective.
The saddest part about The Fixed Mindset is that most of us operate blindly like this at some point until we hit a rock bottom that wakes us up.
It’s when you look around and think, “Wait a second. I deserve better than this. This is not how my life is supposed to be.”
But the realization alone is not enough to change anything. Actually, if you have thoughts about reaching for more in life and don’t do anything about it, you’ll probably be more unsatisfied than if you never noticed at all.
The moment you realize that you deserve better and begin to make a conscious effort to change is the moment your mindset has shifted from The Fixed Mindset to The Growth Mindset.
Things don’t normally change immediately after that realization or the actions you take. But over time, with The Growth Mindset, your life will gradually start to look more like the life you’ve envisioned.
So start trying to move through your life with The Growth Mindset.
Where you are is not where you’re going.
Everything about you, from your past to your present, from your voice to your style, is what makes your story unique.
Make the most of it.
You deserve it.
And people need you!
I really hope this encouraged you!
